Labor and Finance: Some Preliminary Attempts at Quantification
Abstract
It is well known that the U.S. labor movement has, since 1990, increased its involvement with financial markets. It has done so through two primary modalities: shareholder activism focused on corporate governance and regulatory and legislative efforts at the federal level. For the most part, it has been a minority actor in these realms. The present research is an effort to measure various dimensions of these activities.Downloads
