Work Systems and Employment Relations in the Australian Automotive Manufacturing Industry
Abstract
This paper examines the scale of production, productivity, skill development, work organization, and industrial relations in the Australian automotive manufacturing industry. The paper draws on data from the 1993 and 2000 rounds of the surveys conducted by the International Motor Vehicle Program. The conclusions raise serious questions about the future viability of the Australian automotive manufacturing industry.Downloads
