Abstract

In her book The Other Women's Movement: Work-place Justice and Social Rights in Modern America, Rutgers University historian Dorothy Sue Cobble coined the term "labor feminist," a New Deal-era activist who "promulgated a liberalism with a decidedly more egalitarian and populist bent than the version espoused by most New Deal liberals." In 2014, Sweden became the first country in the world to identify as a "feminist government," which means that "gender equality is central to the Government's priorities - in decision-making and resource allocation."
