Leading through transformation: SAG-AFTRA's innovative alternative compensation model

Abstract

Last spring, after the most important contract negotiations in a generation, union actors secured landmark commercials agreements. The Screen Actors Guild– American Federation of Television and Radio Artists’ commercials contracts are the backbone of our performers’ union. Together, they cover more than $1 billion in earnings and ensure our members are able to make a living wage through union work and qualify for pension and health benefits. For this reason, it is a top priority of our union to recapture and expand union commercial work.
