Abstract
For many of us, the world has changed since we were together in Minneapolis a year ago. I suppose those watching TV on election night had a sinking feeling throughout the evening. I don’t know, as I was in Jakarta twelve hours ahead of New York. On the morning of Tuesday, November 8, I got up and turned on the TV to CNN and immediately recognized the place—Independence Hall, in Philadelphia, my home city.
