Abstract

The gig, or sharing, economy has been the source of much discussion this year at LERA events and in its publications. It began in January at the LERA Winter Meeting (in conjunction with ASSA/ AEA) in San Francisco, with healthy attendance in the City by the Bay: 250 people attended Alan Krueger’s plenary session address, “The Changing Job Market: What to Expect.” Krueger, together with Seth Harris and Larry Katz, has been out in front of the implications of the gig economy for workers.
