Abstract

Effective employment relations can foster economic growth and social stability, while poor employment relations can have a large, negative impact on economic and social development. China’s employment relations and approaches to human resource management have undergone substantial changes in the last decade. Indeed, they have become among the most important issues in the reform of the Chinese economic system, a reality that becomes even clearer with the country’s entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO).
