Abstract

In 1948, in the American Economic Association's Survey of Contemporary Economics, Lloyd Reynolds authored a 33-page chapter summarizing contributions to the state of knowledge in the field of labor economics and, to a lesser extent, industrial relations since the early thirties. It was somehow appropriate that during his term as president of the Industrial Relations Research Association that organization should have initiated a survey of the research contributions to this field in the postwar decade.
