Abstract

Spreading information, creating relationships, coming together, connecting with others, forming groups, uniting forces-does all this equal? The annual LERA conference, of course. In January 2005, LERA co-sponsored the 7th Annual Ph.D. Student Consortium with the support of several university employment-relations programs.1 The Consortium also j oined forces with LERA's Work and Employment Relations Interest Section for a rewarding afternoon of informative presentations on social capital and the study of work.2 Such events enable doctoral students to interact not only with their peers but also with employment-relations experts from across the country.
