Abstract

D an Marsden, an inspector at a plastics plant in northern California, was having a bad day at work. A gaggle of co-workers was taunting and teasing him about his presumed sexual orientation. For several months, they had been annoying him by insinuating that Dan was gay. The rest of the workforce enjoyed his discomfort. In short, he was the victim of a cruel, running joke, intended to relieve others' boredom.
