Abstract

Low-cost competition in today’s global airline industry is on the rise, with implications for labor that are still unfolding and not yet fully understood. Studying the strategies of low-cost carriers and their impact on airline employment relations is a priority of LERA’s Airline Industry Council. A research project is underway that addresses key questions about this trend and seeks to identify opportunities to improve airline labor relations.
