In January 2005, the LERA executive board approved the establishment of the Public/Federal sector Industry Council at its annual meeting in Philadelphia. I co-chair the council with Jeff Sumberg of Booz Allen Hamilton, and Robert Tobias of American University. (As many LERA members will recall, Tobias has served as president of the National Treasury Employees Union.)
