Abstract
LERA launched the formation of Industry Councils (ICs) in the fall of 2003, just two years ago. The councils represent an important structural addition to LERA, which also features over fifty local chapters in communities around the country and eight topical Interest Sections. Motivating the ICs is the view that many aspects of research, policy, and practice are most effective when developed and advanced in the industry context.
