Abstract

It is hard to quarrel with the key point of this excellent book: the North American legal and institutional framework for workplace representation falls short of, and indeed conflicts with, the clear requirements of international human rights norms. Even though within North America the status of workers’ rights is better north of the 49th Parallel than south of it, Adams insists—and proves—that Canada, too, is very far from meeting its obligations with respect to the protection of workers’ rights.
