Abstract

As industrial relations scholars and professionals, members of LERA define an effective employment relationship as one in which workers and managers resolve and balance their different interests equitably and efficiently; work together to achieve common goals; and deliver high quality goods and services to their customers, communities, and societies. From its inception, the Industrial Relations Research Association (IRRA) and its successor organization, the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA), have promoted these goals by linking scholars and professionals from labor, management, government, and the neutral communities in analysis and discussion of contemporary work and employment issues.
